BYD Energy Storage has deployed a multi-tiered global after-sales service network across key international markets to support its battery energy storage systems (BESS). The framework establishes nine 2,500-square-meter regional maintenance hubs, introducing standardized response protocols alongside planned infrastructure additions in Bulgaria and South Africa by 2027.
The company’s existing service footprint spans China, Chile, South Africa, the United Kingdom, the United States, Australia, Japan, Poland, and the Middle East. Beyond managing regional spare parts inventories and logistics, these hubs handle battery repair and maintenance, localized recycling, and technical training programs for recruited local engineers while maintaining alignment with regional regulatory frameworks.
Standardized SLAs and Technical Infrastructure
Technical support operations are managed by more than 200 field engineers and over 100 research and development specialists. The division operates under standardized service-level agreements (SLAs)—formal operational commitments defining service turnaround times—which enforce customer inquiry responses within 24 hours, on-site arrival within 48 hours, and fault resolutions within seven days.
To reduce system downtime, the organization pairs a multi-node global supply chain with localized production lines. This integrated approach allows on-site operation and maintenance teams to utilize regional resources directly for battery repairs, creating accessible and localized technical support for utility-scale assets.
